CREAM SWEATER TAB FRONT
Grey Sweater - tab front variation to suit suit men's sizing

Gauge (Tension)
20 sts and 26 rows = 4ins(10cms) over stocking stitch with size 7(4.5mm) needles. If you obtain more sts per 4ins(10cms) than specified, use larger needles, if less use smaller needles.

Back
With size 3(3.25mm) needles, cast on 100(105:109:114:118)
1st row: p
2nd row: k
Change to size 7(4.5mm) needles and work in patt as foll:
1st row: k
2nd row: p1(4:0:2:4),k1,*p5, k1* rep from * to * to last 2(4:0:3:5)sts, p to end.
Rep these two rows for patt.
Cont in patt until work meas 13(14.5:15:15.5:16)ins (33(37cm:38cm:39:40)cms). Mark armholes. Cont in patt until work meas 22(23:24:25:25.5)ins (55(59:61:63:65)cms).
Shape shoulders: bind off(cast off) 17(18:18:19:20) sts at beg of next 4(2:4:4:4) rows. Size 34ins (86cms) only: bind off(cast off) 17 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Leave rem 32(35: 37:38:38)sts on holder for back neck.

Front
Work as for back until work meas 15.5(17.5:17.5:18:18.5)ins (39(44:45:46:47)cms).
Tab opening: With rs facing, k46(49:51:53:55)sts, bind off(cast off) next 8(7:7:8:8) sts, k rem 46(49:51:53:55) sts. Cont working in patt on this right side for a further 3.5(4:4:4.5:5)ins (9(10:10:11:12)cms).
Shape neck: With rs facing, bind off(cast off) 5 sts, k to end. k2tog at neck edge of next 7(9:10:10:10)rows. Cont on rem 34(35:36:38:40) sts until work meas 22(23:24:25:25.5)ins (55(59:61:63:65)cms) from beg, fin shoulder edge.
Shape shoulder: Bind off(cast off) 17(18:18:19:20) sts at shoulder edge at beg of next 2(1:2:2:2) alt rows. Size 34ins(86cms) only, bind off(cast off) 17 sts at beg of next alt row. Work left side front to match right side, rev shapings.

Sleeves
With size 3(3.25mm) needles, cast on 48(50:52:52:54)sts
1st row: p
2nd row: k
Now work 8 rows k2,p2 rib,inc 8(8:8:10:10) sts evenly across last row. 56(58:60:62:64) sts.
Change to size 7(4.5mm) needles and work in patt as foll:
1st row: k
2nd row: k1(2:0:1:2) *p5, k1* rep from * to *to last 1(2:0:1:2) sts, k to end.
Cont in patt, inc 1 st each end of every 5(5:5:5:4) rows until there are 88(90:94:98:102) sts. Cont on these sts until sleeve meas 17(17.5:17.5:18:18)ins (43(45:45:46:46)cms).
Bind off(cast off) loosely.

Neck Band
Join shoulder seams.
With size 3(3.25mm) needles, and with rs facing, pick up and k 20(20:20:20:21)sts around right front neck, 32(35:37:38:38)sts across back neck holder, and 20(20:20:20:21) sts around left front neck. 72(75:77:78:80) sts. Work k2,p2 rib for 8 rows. Bind off(cast off).

Tab Facings (2)
With size 3(3.25mm) needles, and rs facing, pick up and k 28(30:30:32:32) sts evenly down front tab opening. Remembering to work buttonholes in right tab for women, left tab for men, work 10 rows k2,p2 rib. Bind off(cast off).

Button holes
Work 3 evenly spaced in 5th row: bind off(cast off) 2sts for each buttonhole. 6th row: cast on 2 sts over bound off(cast off) sts of previous row.

Finishing
Sew sleeve tops to armholes, centring sleeves on shoulder seams. Join side and sleeve seams. Stitch lower edges of tabs to bound off(cast off) sts at centre front. Sew 3 buttons to underneath tab, to match buttonhole positions. Press garment lightly on ws.

MORIO GREY SWEATER
This is a variation of the Cream Sweater with a rib and tab front variation to suit men’s sizing.

Back
With size 3(3.25mm) needles, cast on 116(120:126:130:136:142) sts
1st row: p
2nd row: k
Change to size 7(4.5mm) needles and work in patt as foll:
1st row: k
2nd row: p10(11:3:5:8:11), k1, *p11,k1* rep from *to *to last 9(0:2:4:7:10) sts, p to end.
Rep these 2 rows for patt.
Cont in patt until work meas 18(19:19.5:19.5:20:20.5) ins (46(49:50:50:51:52) cms), mark armhole position. Cont in patt until work meas 27.5(29:30:30.5:31.5:32) ins (70(74:76:78:80:82) cms.
Shape shoulders: Bind off(cast off) 39(41:43:44:47:49) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Place remaining 38(38:40:42:42:44) sts on holder for back neck.

Front
Work as back until work meas 21.5(23:23.5:24.5:25:25.5) ins (55(58:60:62:63:65) cms) fin ws.
Tab opening: k 54(56:59:61:64:67) sts, bind off(cast off) 8sts, k rem 54(56:59:61:64:67) sts. Working on right front only, cont in patt until front meas 26(27.5:28:29:29.5:30) ins (66(70:72:74:74:77) cms), fin ws row.
Shape neck: next row: bind off(cast off) 5 sts, k to end. k 2tog at neck edge of every row until 39(41:43:44:47:49) sts rem. Cont on these sts until front meas 27.5(29:30:30.5:31.5:32) ins (70(74:76:78:80:82)cms). Bind off(cast off). Work left front as right front, rev shapings.

Sleeves
With size 3(3.25mm) needles cast on 48(52:54:56:58:58) sts
1st row: p
2nd row: k
Next 8 rows: k2,p2 rib. Inc 4(6:6:6:6:8) sts evenly across last row. 52(58:60:62:64:66) sts. Change to size 7(4.5mm) needles and patt as foll:
1st row: k
2nd row: p2(1:6:1:2:3) k1, *p11,k1*, rep from *to *to last 1(0:5:0:1:2) sts, p to end. Keeping patt correct, inc 1 st each end every 5th row until 96(100:106:112:118:120) sts. Cont on these sts until sleeve meas 20(21:21.5:22:22.5:23) ins (51(53:55:56:57:58) cms). Bind off(cast off) loosely.

Neck Band
Join shoulder seams.
With size 3(3.25mm) needles and rs facing, pick up and k 19(19:19:19:20:20) sts around right front neck, 38(38:40:42:42:44) from back neck holder, and 19(19:19:19:20:20) sts around left front neck. 76(76:78:80:82:84) sts. Work 8 rows in k2,p2 rib. Bind off(cast off) loosely.

Tab Facings (2)
With size 3(3.25mm) needles, and rs facing, pick up and k 35 sts evenly down front tab opening. Remembering to work buttonholes in right tab for women, left tab for men, work 10 rows k2,p2 rib. Bind off(cast off).

Button holes
Work 3 evenly spaced in 5th row: bind off(cast off) 2sts for each buttonhole. 6th row: cast on 2 sts over each 2 sts bound off(cast off) sts in previous row.

Finishing
Sew sleeve tops to armholes, centring sleeves on shoulder seams. Join side and sleeve seams. Stitch lower edges of tabs to bound off(cast off) sts at centre front. Sew 3 buttons to underneath tab, to match buttonhole positions. Press garment lightly on ws.
