Teen Fashion. Missoni Madness...Stripes Like You Have Never Seen!

(Jun-00) - The Italian design house does it again! Stripes, stripes, stripes.
The way they use color is FANTASTIC. Their knits are like nomadic tribal wear...earthy,
thick, intense. Now they are extending the stripes to silks reminiscent of
Emilio Pucci's psychedelic curves of the 60's. Missoni's stripes are more
constrained, sharp and linear than the Pucci originals. Is this a reflection
of our society?! Yeah, but they sure are NEAT!
You could really use up some of your yarn stash for sweaters in the Missoni style!
Other
designers like Versace, Helmut Lang and Miu Miu allow for more free-flowing
swirls. Fun, but way more challenging to convert to knitting. For simple,
yet complex knitting and stash use, I say go for Missoni!
If you would like to knit up a garment in the Missoni colorways show in the picture, I would suggest Galway 100% Virgin Wool yarn available from WorldKnit.com in color #'s: 08-White, 84-Turquoise, 66-Espresso, 12-Garnet, 93-Light Brown and 95-Carmel.
Now that is Cool!
